Reasons why I love Peeta Mellark:
2. “He’s good and nice in a world that’s harsh and unkind.” - Jennifer Lawrence
Another reason why I love Peeta Mellark is that although he has so many reasons to be mean, closed off, and downright evil, he still manages to remain an altogether good person.
Peeta is a child who has witnissed much injustice in the world. Every year, he is forced to watch someone from his own district fight to the death on national television. He has seen all of the capitol’s cruelty and has had to go through it himself at a very young age. But even in a world so corrupt and evil, he still manages to be unbelievably sweet, good natured, and see’s all the beauty the world and it’s people have to offer.
This boy has been abused at home. He has been told by his own mother how worthless he is. How much of a failure he is. And he has had every reason to grow into a man who could care less about the people suffering around him. But still, he risks getting beaten to give a starving girl some bread. And I honestly think that even if he hadn’t had a crush on this girl since childhood, even if she was a complete stranger to him, he would have still risked everything to give it to her. Because although people have a tendency to mimic the thoughts and actions of the people around them, Peeta Mellark still cares deeply about every child he sees suffer.

117. Annie Cresta was still screaming when the hovercraft lifted her from the arena. She continued to scream aloud until she felt a syringe jab her back. The needle might have made everything go black and although she was unconscious, in her head she continued to scream. When she awoke strapped…
