Abi and I have come to the conclusion,

little-dhampirr:

that it is, indeed our dear Will Herondale, that is Brother Zachariah.
We believe he wasn’t able to save his parabatai, by finding a cure and feels he needs to punish himself by becoming a silent brother.
Cassie has confirmed that being a Silent Brother is a fate worse than death, and they can’t have romantic encounters, so what better way to not want to have a romantic affair with Tessa then to become a monk? 

And it’s even worse that they’re both alive… so he’ll suffer until the day he dies.
